Perhaps it's because I'm domestically challenged, but I did not expect to be crouched over my grout with an old-world style scrubber going to town- ever. That's why they invented mops, no? Well my floors must have missed that memo... they refuse to be properly cleaned with a mop or Swiffer Wet alone! Curse you! My grout is seriously black! Why? What happened here?!
Grout is the bain of my existence! And since my house is 100 millions years old, and since Texas dirt/clay makes houses SHIFT constantly....my grout is busting up all over the place....which means, I have to learn how to MAKE grout, or whatever its called! Where is my fairy godmother??
ReplyDeleteBipitty bobitty...NEW HOUSE.
i think new grout is supposed to be black? like, it eventually turns white after you wash it alot? i dunno. i learned that from my first job, where we were in a new building, with new grout. ours never turned white like it was supposed to though. drove the owners crazy. and yeah, i don't think i'll ever do it. *shudder*
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda upset because a family who lives in our subdivision has the same color grout and hers is fine! I can't figure out the problem! Maybe the dogs? She has young kids too. Weird!
ReplyDeleteAfter you get your grout cleaned, try sealing it... I've heard that helps. I haven't tried it yet. My grout is still dark... :)
